About the show:

Spiked! — Table Salt Productions’ perennial holiday favorite — is back!

What is Spiked?  First-rate music plus sketch comedy, all mixed up in a sparkling holiday punch!  Featuring local music headliners and Brave New Workshop alums, it’s Saturday Night Live meets Mariah Carey … with cocktails!

This year's cast includes Brave New Workshop alums Jim Robinson, Katy McEwen and Joshua Will plus local sketch comedy and improv favorite Maureen Tubbs, with music from Dennis Curley (The Explainers, Country Roads), Dorian Chalmers (Church Basement Ladies, The Mancini Players), Natalie Nowytski (Orkestar Bez Ime, Follow the Firefly), Scott Keever (The Sweet Colleens, solo artist) and Marc Bohn (Tim Sigler, Jim Stairs Band).

Sunday, December 3, 2023 (6 pm, North Garden Theater):  ADRIENNE O'SHEA!

Adrienne O’Shea was born in Dublin to a family steeped in Irish culture, and came as a small child to St. Paul, MN.  She has studied Irish music, dance, and language from an early age, and she holds multiple titles in flute, whistle, piano, and song from the Midwest Fleadh Cheoil.  She made her stage debut at the age of 9 in Get Up Your Irish, and performs as a leading band member in Kickin’ It Irish and A Celtic Holiday Hooley.  Adrienne is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Irish Traditional Music Performance at the University of Limerick.

Wednesday, December 6, 2023 (7 pm, Black Forest Inn):  DOUG ANDERSON and TANE DANGER!

Doug Anderson is a veteran actor/dancer/performer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  He has performed at the Guthrie, Chanhassen Dinner Theater, Hey City Theater, Center City Theater, and many others.  Tane Danger is the co-creator and host of the nationally renowned civics-inspired improv comedy show The Theater of Public Policy.  He is an emcee, event producer, improviser, teacher, and speaker who currently serves as director of the Westminster Town Hall Forum.

Thursday, December 7, 2023 (7 pm, Black Forest Inn):  TODD MENTON!

Todd Menton is a multi-instrumentalist and the lead singer in Boiled in Lead, a Twin Cities-based punk/folk/world-music band.  He has toured extensively with the band, and is also a solo recording artist for New Folk Records.  His music is a combination of original and traditional Irish tunes and songs, rendered in a unique, edgy style.  The bodhran and mandolin are featured prominently on his recordings, and are his two favorite instruments.

Sunday, December 10, 2023 (8 pm, Crooners):  PRUDENCE JOHNSON!

Prudence Johnson’s long and happy career as a singer, writer, and teacher has landed her on the musical theatre stage, in two feature films (A River Runs Through It, A Prairie Home Companion), on national radio (several long stints on A Prairie Home Companion), and on concert stages across North America and occasionally Europe.  She has released more than a dozen recordings, including albums dedicated to the music of the Gershwins, Hoagy Carmichael, Greg Brown, and a collection of international lullabies.

Monday, December 11, 2023 (7 pm, Parkway Theater):  LORI DOKKEN and JUDI VINAR!

Lori Dokken has performed at every major venue in the Twin Cities from The Dakota to The Guthrie to The Ordway.  A sought after accompanist, she is also a successful concert producer, educator, vocal coach, arranger, and vocalist.  Judi Vinar has been singing since the age of four, and began her professional career in 1983. Starting with Folk/Country, Musical Theater, and Opera, Judi has explored Jazz, Pop, R&B, Rock, Gospel, and now tackles just about any style.  Judi tours with Bobby McFerrin in his 5 piece a cappella group “Gimme5”.
